About Me

Welcome to Teaching with Nancy!

My name is Nancy Alvarez.  I was born in Miami, FL where I grew up.  In 2005, my family and I moved to McKinney, TX and have never looked back.  I have two sons, 23 and 18 and a daughter who is 14.

I have a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, a M. S. Ed. in Educational Leadership and a Google Educator Certificate. I have taught in both private and public schools.  I also have experience with homeschooling, curriculum design, professional development, instructional coaching, bilingual education, and technology integration.

My passion and specialty are early childhood education and STEAM integration in the early years (Science Technology Engineering Arts & Math).  I have 19 years of experience in education.  I have taught pre-kindergarten, second grade, worked as an instructional coach and served as an assistant principal.  I am currently the principal of a bilingual primary school in North Texas.

My Products

My goal when creating my products is to create materials that are timely, cost effective and easy for teachers to put together.  If I can help teachers save time and money by providing them with high-quality, rigorous, engaging materials, I have succeeded.  You will notice that most of my materials are centers or stations.  I know how important it is to have engaging learning stations where students can practice academic skills and work independently while the teacher works with small groups.  What you won’t see in my store are many worksheets.  I am not a fan of worksheets.  I do however try to provide answer recording sheets, practice or extension pages with my center activities because I understand that teachers need to hold students accountable.

I hope you and my students enjoy my classroom resources!

You are very sweet. I was a bilingual teacher for a long time and I know first hand how difficult it is to find good resources in Spanish! Glad you found these resources helpful.

Hi Nancy! I am a 3rd grade spanish teacher in a Dual language school in NC. I would like to know how important is to have a Spanish curriculum coach? We don’t have one and I think, since we are almost everygrade dual, we need one. At your school do you have this position?
Thanks! Looking forward to hear about you. I follow you via Twitter.

Yes, we are very fortunate to have a bilingual instructional coach on my current campus. I agree it is a very important position. I was a bilingual instructional coach before I became an administrator.

Not to share with the public. The files are way too big and are a hassle to upload.
